Roses! Yes we love our David Austin English roses, they flower & flower & some of them have delicious fragrances, which can be quite intoxicating.



The first photo shows a good display of ‘Gertrude Jekyll’ so named after the 19th century landscape gardener. This rose has lovely rosette shaped flowers & a very powerful old rose fragrance. The rich pink colour is gorgeous.



The above photograph shows 3 varieties of rose, the first is one of my absolute favourites – Evelyn. A very delicate apricot/pinkish colour, a very large rose, but the best part is the fragrance – quite over-powering. The Country Man is the middle row, very similar to Gertrude Jekyll and finally L D Braithwaite, this has to be one of the best red roses with its huge flowers and bright crimson colour which never fades. One of our employees is working very hard in the background mowing the lawn!
